Sub-Acute Inpatient Program

Teen Substance Use Our Sub-Acute Inpatient Program is for children ages 6-13 requiring a short-term, highly structured and safe living arrangement, while receiving intensive mental health and behavioral health services in a rich therapeutic milieu.

Our program includes assessment, psychiatry, psychology, evidence-based and experiential therapies, group therapy, family therapy, parent coaching, and an on-campus K-8 Seattle Public School self-contained special education program. With individualized treatment plans and a team approach featuring a low staff-to-child ratio of 1:2, Ryther helps children overcome the effects of trauma, violence and mental illness.

Ryther’s three sub-acute care cottages, located on our beautiful ten-acre campus, each treat twelve children at a time. We strive for a home-like atmosphere with private rooms, family-style dining, predictable routines and caring and knowledgeable staff.
