Ryther’s Therapeutic Family Care (TFC) Program provides therapeutic foster homes for children with emotional disturbance and behavioral
health issues. Many have suffered from abuse and neglect, experienced traumatic life events and perhaps several foster care placements.
Our therapeutic homes provide safe, nurturing care for children who have made progress in their treatment and are in transition to adoptive placements or in reunification with their birth family. We also provide support services and parenting resources for these children’s birth parents.
Other placement options include pregnant teens, international refugee children, sibling sets and respite care. Therapeutic homes receive comprehensive supports and subsidies up to $1800.

The cornerstone of your support network is your Ryther case manager who is your point person as well as your advocate, liaison and overall coordinator. This includes home visits, behavior management, special needs services, school advocacy, document acquisition and quarterly team meetings to name a few. Other resources include child-specific training and psychiatric consultation.
Ryther also uses the Mockingbird Hub Homes model
to build a
micro-community based on an extended family concept.
