Ryther’s Family Visitation Program provides a natural, homelike setting
for children in the foster care system in King County to have safe,
professionally supervised visits with members of their families of
origin. Visitation supervisors provide transportation for children,
monitor visits and intervene if necessary to ensure children’s safety.
Additionally, the Family Visitation Program helps the Department of
Social and Health Services (DSHS) understand the level at which a family
is functioning so that case workers can make more informed decisions
about the future of a child’s care.
