Ryther's Adolescent Program
Ryther’s new co-occurring outpatient treatment program is for adolescents and young adults with
substance use and mental health issues. Our program is designed based on the latest research to
identify and treat depression, anxiety and ADHD in adolescents with substance use. Treatment is
guided by a child and adolescent psychiatrist experienced with adolescents and substance use and
clinicians trained and experienced in mental health and substance use. The first step is a thorough
assessment. See description below.
Outpatient Psychiatric, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Assessment
The first three sessions of the Ryther Adolescent Program encompass a thorough assessment
followed by 12 individual counseling sessions over a three month period. Sessions take place
at Ryther’s Meridian Office, located at 10303 Meridian Avenue North in Northgate.
- Thorough assessment for mental health and substance use completed by clinicians who are
expert in treating adolescents and their families.
- Recommendations guided by the latest research on adolescent brain development, mental
health and substance use treatment.
- May be able to bill your insurance.
Ryther Adolescent Program Treatment Description

and ongoing treatment for any present psychiatric disorder decreases the substance
use disorder.
- Treatment designed to reward the adolescent for successes and improve the chances
for those successes.
- Ongoing monitoring with urine toxicology.
- Focused on reducing and eliminating dangerous use. Losing 10% of the ability to
understand visual spatial problems (girls) or attention (boys) is a high price to pay
for binge drinking.
- Evening and some Saturday appointments available.
- Individual treatment provided by clinicians trained in mental health and substance
use treatment.
- A 12 week program addressing substance use with depression, anxiety or ADHD that
can be adapted to address the adolescent and their families’ individual needs.
- Ongoing after-care for teens and their families after completion of treatment.
- Fulfills requirement for level I outpatient chemical dependency treatment.
- May be able to bill your insurance.
