Outpatient Training & Development Manager

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Provide comprehensive and culturally responsive mental health services for children, youth and their families.  Responsible for assisting in the clinical supervision, training and management of the Outpatient Services Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy, which address the needs of the client within the context of the individual's home and community.

  • Encourage and utilize individual and family strengths and capabilities.

  • Develop initial psychosocial assessments, diagnosis formulation, crisis plans, and treatment plans.

  • Provide intensive home-based or school based services if indicated and in accordance with designated treatment plan.

  • Provide required case management services and inter-agency collaboration.

  • May provide crisis services to clients and families.

  • Write treatment notes, managed care documentation, reports and summaries as necessary.

  • Maintain case records in accordance with licensing, accreditation and agency requirements.

  • Develop cooperative and collaborative working relationships with off- site agency staff and potential referral sources.

  • Maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries with clients, families, co-workers and community resources.

  • Maintain all necessary credentials per agency and licensing requirements.

  • Attend staff meetings as required.

  • Maintain a proportionate caseload of 10-15 therapy clients.

  • Maintain a supervision caseload as assigned.  Meet with assigned staff on a regular schedule as determined by Program Director.

  • Write performance appraisals, with input from the Program Director, for assigned staff.

  • Assist Program Director in screening, interviewing and recommending for hire potential employees.

  • Establish, orient and train all new Outpatient Services clinicians to general as well as site specific criteria.

  • Provide clinical supervision regarding client cases with focus on use of, and fidelity to, adopted evidenced based and promising practices. Maintain documentation of supervision meetings.

  • Provide supervision and direction with attention on productivity and accountability standards.

  • Ensure that staff receive training and support in evidenced based and promising practices identified by the agency clinical staff development plan.

  • Provide oversight, training and supervision for Outpatient Services trainees including interns, externs and practicum students.

  • Provide group consultation related to EBP’s as assigned (PCIT, DBT, etc).

  • Meet with Program Director on a weekly basis to review assigned cases, assigned supervision caseload and to participate in program development.

  • Demonstrate a high degree of skill in communication and positive interaction with all Ryther employees, prospective employees, external agencies/companies and the community at large.

  • All other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Commitment to the Vision and Mission of the agency.

  • Acceptance of a variety of lifestyles, behaviors, cultural and spiritual practices.

  • 21 or more years of age.

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.

  • Minimum of two years experience working with children and youth.

  • Knowledge and understanding of family centered practice principles.

  • Knowledge, understanding and acceptance of evidenced based practices.

  • Skills in clinical assessment and treatment that is goal-oriented and solution-focused.

  • Knowledge of community mental health systems, adolescent substance abuse and dependency resources, ARY, Seattle Public Schools, DCFS and resources within the Seattle area is highly desirable.

  • Licensure as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Counselor required.

  • Meet the requirements of a Mental Health Professional as defined by the Washington Administrative Code.

  • Valid state driver's license and liability insurance.

  • Knowledge and understanding of case management practices.

  • Ability to cooperate as a member of an inter-disciplinary treatment team.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain both client and employee confidentiality.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including skilled at verbal de-escalation.

  • Must provide own transportation.

PAY: $70,000 - $85,000

​
