In response to COVID-19, Ryther has developed several virtual groups to help keep kids busy and regulated during this tough time. We have also moved our Parent and Caregiver Support Groups online. Please note that all groups require access to a laptop or smartphone capable of video chat (laptops are preferable if available). To sign up for a group, please fill out the form below. These groups are open to all Ryther clients and are run through primary insurance. For clients without insurance, out of pocket cost is $75/session. Co-pay may apply. Interested in signing up for a group but not a current Ryther client? Get started here.

Connecting With Games

In progress, join anytime!

Wednesdays, 3:00 - 4:00 PM

Ages: 10-14 years old

This group is a space for kids to connect through games during this time of social distancing. We will incorporate games designed to foster connections between others, engage our silly and creative side, and allow kids to reengage social and emotional skills utilized with peers at school and outside of the home.

Gender Journey Group

In progress, join anytime!

Tuesdays, 4:00 - 4:50 PM

Ages: 13-18 years old

This is a discussion and support group for teens to talk about and explore issues around gender and identity. With topics ranging from gender expression, self-discovery, self-care, healthy relationships, and self-advocacy, we cover many issues relevant to young people growing up. We use DBT skills, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing in a supportive group format. Enrollment is open to anyone who identifies as trans, gender non-conforming, non-binary, gender questioning, or anyone on the gender spectrum who wants to explore gender together with peers.

Origami Group

Currently on hiatus

Mondays, 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Ages: 12-15 years old (recommended)

Join Tai and Galen for an hour of mindfulness, frustration tolerance building, and behavioral activation through origami! Origami is the Japanese art of paper folding, and Tai and Galen will be sharing and teaching increasingly challenging patterns over the course of the group, from a simple cat face to the classic crane. All skill levels are welcome. The only required materials each week are some sheets of paper. The paper does not have to be square; we will teach them how to fold and tear paper in a square. Optional materials include scissors and markers/color pencils/crayons.

Seven Challenges
