Appointed to Ryther’s Board of Trustees in December of 2025

Dr. Daniel Crawford brings more than two decades of clinical expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry to Ryther. After beginning his academic studies in psychology and later earning an M.M. in Marketing, he shifted his career toward healthcare, completing his medical training and specialty fellowships at the University of Washington. His work reflects a lifelong commitment to supporting young people and strengthening behavioral health systems in our region.

Dr. Crawford spent 15 years as an Attending Psychiatrist at Seattle Children’s Hospital, where he provided care across inpatient, emergency, and behavioral medicine settings and served as Interim Medical Director of the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Alongside his clinical work, he built a strong academic career at the University of Washington’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, advancing through multiple faculty roles while teaching and supervising residents, fellow, and psychology trainees.

A dedicated leader in mental health community, Dr. Crawford has held numerous positions within the Washington State Psychiatric Association, including President, Treasurer, Secretary, and long-standing member of the Ethics Committee. With board certifications in Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and decades of service grounded in compassion and integrity. Dan brings invaluable insight to Ryther’s Board of Trustees and its mission to expand high quality behavioral health care for youth and young adults.
