November 17, 2016 at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel 11:30am-1:00pm.
All proceeds will support uncompensated care for the Cottage Program, serving children ages 6-14 who have been abused, neglected and have experienced an average of nine placements before Ryther. This flagship event raises nearly 20% of our philanthropic revenue and is critical to Cottage Program operations and contributing to the positive outcomes we measure and observe for the nearly 100 children annually who receive 24/7 therapeutic treatment in our three cottages each year.
Please welcome Keynote Speaker Laura Porter & Mistress of Ceremonies Jean Enersen
Laura Porter founded Adverse Childhood Experience (ACE) Interface with Dr. Robert Anda, co-principle investigator of the ACE Study, to help communities use ACE concepts to improve health and wellbeing. She has two decades of experience helping leaders in communities, philanthropy, government and the private sector to apply ACE study concepts as a vital part of building community capacity to solve social and health problems. Her experience is documented in a new film called Resilience produced by Jamie Redford, and in an article published by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation titled: Self-Healing Communities; A Transformational Process Model for Improving Intergenerational Health. She provides consultation to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the RWJF funded project called Mobilizing Action for Resilient Communities, and the Foundation for Healthy Generations. She helps leaders in over 20 states to have the information they need to focus investments on root causes of problems and to stop the progression of adversity in people’s lives.
